Sport and adventure
Feeling active? There are plenty of outlets for your energy in Lanzarote!
Lanzarote is perfect for walking and of particular note are its well-looked-after coastal paths. It is possible to walk from Sands Beach Resort to the edge of Arrecife 5km away and if that leaves you wanting more, you can go for the extra 9km on to Puerto del Carmen. Cycling the same routes is another option but there are a few points where you will have to nip inland to avoid the beach.
Take the next step up and maybe try horse riding, there are several popular routes which can be done in parties with guides.
If you are a budding Fernando Alonso you will be pleased to know that Lanzarote has one of the biggest Go Karting tracks in Spain. The 2,346 metre circuit near Tias, by the airport, caters for all age groups and also has smaller tracks for learners and juniors.

Golfers flock to Costa Tequise for the only 18 hole course on the island, but there is a 9 hole pitch and putt course in Playa Blanca at the Hesperia Playa Dorada Hotel on the coastal promenade.
Sea fishing is another very popular sport and a great way to top up the tan and feel the wind in your hair. Trips run from most of the harbours around the island but if you check at hotel reception at Sands Beach Resort, they will be able to reel in a good catch for you.
