Getting around

At just 65km by 24km, Lanzarote is easy to travel around and has a good road system. Hiring a car is a convenient way to see the sights and the hotel reception at Sands Beach Resort will be happy to help you arrange car hire one of Costa Teguise's many rent-a-car companies. To hire a car, you will need to be over 21 and hold a full driving licence. Car hire prices are pretty good, between 85 and 100 euros for a week and if you are staying at Sands Beach, you can make use of the our secure parking.

If you want someone else to do the driving for you, the public bus service is frequent and cheap. The company is called Arrecife Bus but serves all points in Lanzarote.

Sands Beach Resort is just beyond point where the bus turns around in Costa Tequise, which means that you can easily get a seat before the bus gets busy. The trip to Playa Blanca is one of the longest journeys and even that will only cost 2.5 Euros each way. Short hops are just one Euro.

There are more energetic ways to get around too - Lanzarote's roads aren’t too busy and cycling is very popular. Bike Station is based in the Maretas commercial centre, about 5 minutes walk from Sands Beach Resort and there you can rent out bikes individually or join a guided touring group from 30 euros per day.
